The OSCE experts in media freedom met with representatives of the parliamentary majority . The meeting focused on the media environment and the ombudsman`s institution.

Tamar Chugoshvili, First Deputy Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia states that according to OSCE experts` attitude, Georgia has taken a very important step in recent years in terms of media freedom.

"The opinion is that in recent years there has been a very important step towards media freedom and the environment is qualitatively different from what was before 2012. This is fixed. As regards the media freedom challenges, we can talk about many issues, including the quality of media relations, etc. I generally think that in terms of freedom of media, in terms of media quality, we can move to a new stage, establish higher standards. It is very important for us that the OSCE will be with us in this process and help us ", - Chugoshvili said.
