Church does not have views on state border - Russian Patriarchate representative speaks about possible visit of Patriarch Kirill to Georgia

"Of course, His Holliness Patriarch Kirill will make such a visit and I have no doubt in this," - said Vakhtang Kipshidze, Deputy Head of Public Relations and Media Relations Division of the Russian Patriarchate n response to the Courier`s question about possible arrival of Russian Patriarch in Georgia.

Vakhtang Kipshidze was attending the media forum  funded by Gazprom. The media conference was also attended by Vladimir Putin`s special representative Mikheil Shvidkoy and journalist Vladimir Mamontov.

"The other thing is that dates of this visit are not yet defined. President of Abkhazia is not a religious leader and such meetings can beconsidered for protocol. You seem to mix up the canonical and state boundaries. The church does not have views on the state border. It has only a vision on the canonical boundaries that remain unchanged. Therefore, meeting with certain political figures does not influence the canonical boundaries of the Church, " - Vakhtang Kipshidze, the deputy head of public and media relations division of the Russian Patriarchate, said.
