" Mikhail Saakashvili, the President of Georgia has misused his official authority in accordance with the unlawful promise made to Davit Akhalaia in advance on November 24, 2008,- reads the statement released by the Chief Prosecutor"s Office of Georgia in regard to the decision of the Tbilisi City Court on Sandro Girgvliani"s case.

The Chief Prosecutor"s Office states that the court has fully accepted the prosecution"s evidence and has found Mikheil Saakashvili, the former President of Georgia guilty of abusing his authority with pardoning individuals convicted on Sandro Girgvliani"s case under Georgian Criminal Code Article 332, Part II.
