"Broadcasters should conduct Public Opinion Surveys impartially" - "Transparency International" starts joint consultations

"Transparency International Georgia" is launching joint consultations with the representatives of the GNCC and broadcasters.

The matter concerns the statement made by the Commission several days ago - it called on the broadcasters to verify the credibility of their public opinion surveys, otherwise the media is threatened with penalty sanctions.

Broadcasters refuse to consider the warning. The third sector considers the requirements of the Commission as violation of international standards.

"Public opinion polls should be carried out impartially, but those requirements which the Commission puts up are already disrespectful and are incompatible with international norms and best practices" - NGO "Transparency International Georgia" program manager Mamuka Andguladze.
