Judge sentenced Irakli Okruashvili to preliminary detention

The judge has sentenced Irakli Okruashvili to preliminary detention. The judge, Maka Gvelesiani, announced the decision several minutes ago. Okruashvili is supposed to be taken to Gldani prison in a few minutes.

Before that, the judge, Maka Gvelesiani, closed the process when Okruashvili had to appeal to the court and say what his detention was linked to.

The court session will be held on September 18.

Apart from Irakli Okruashvili, other detainees were also sentenced to imprisonment.

Judge Maka Gvelesiani, who closed the process despite the high public interest, was appointed by the Supreme Council of Justice in 2017 as a life-time judge.
