Lelo Movement demands separation of Ministry of Culture

Lelo Movement demands Education and Science to be separated from the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport of Georgia. The statement was made by the member of political council Medea Metreveli.

According to her, the Ministry can’t solve problems in the field of culture.

“It is alarming that the Government does not have any vision to promote the culture and creative industries of our country. There is no strategy to help development of the employees working in this field. Georgian culture is an important tool for economic and political positioning.

The reform joining the Ministry of Education and Science with the Ministry of Culture and Sports in 2018 hurt the culture.

Culture should become one of the top priorities of the country”, - said Medea Metreveli.
