One of nine accused with suspicious symptoms was tested and coronavirus was not confirmed - Penitentiary Service

One of nine accused with suspicious symptoms was tested and coronavirus was not confirmed. As the Special Penitentiary Service said, an inmate can not be admitted to a penitentiary due to the COVID-19 symptoms for a week now.

According to the Agency, at this stage, nine detainees were not allowed into the prison. These actions are related to the prevention of the possible spread of the novel coronavirus.

“The medical examination of the accused in the penitentiary establishments is carried out outside of the building, in a specially equipped medical unit. If the accused has no symptoms and an inmate or his family members have no history of traveling abroad in the nearest future, then he is placed in the so-called quarantine zone for 21 days.

If the defendants have any suspicious symptoms, they will receive treatment at the clinic. Nine of the defendants got tested. The results are not positive”, - reads the statement of the Service.
