Cuomo responds to Trump as confirmed COVID cases, deaths continue to rise in New York

Donald Trump has said the US will be in “a very good shape” in terms of the number of ventilators available by the time the coronavirus outbreak peaks.

The President said at least 10 US companies were now making the medical devices, and some might be exported. The virus can cause severe respiratory issues, and ventilators help keep patients breathing.

New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo said that he refuses to get in a political fight with Donald Trump amid their efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

“I’m not going to engage in politics”, - Cuomo said at a press conference from the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, which was converted into temporary hospital space by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

“Not because I”m unwilling to tangle, but because I think it’s inappropriate, and I think it’s counterproductive, and I think it’s anti-American. Forget the politics! We have a national crisis. We are at war”, - Cuomo said.
