Georgia hosts high-ranking guests. The spring session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly opens in Tbilisi on Independence Day. Prior to that the President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly, Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia and Chairman of the Defense and Security Committee are holding a press conference.

The meeting was opened by the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia a few minutes ago, which noted that it is symbolic for Georgia that the Assembly is being held on the Independence Day of Georgia.

"We are pleased that the Assembly session is being held in Georgia, in the country which will become a member of the alliance by the NATO decision, it is the choice of Georgian people and we are pleased that it is supported by the North Atlantic Alliance,"- said Irakli Kobakhidze.
