Inter-agency Commission appeals to Venice Commission

Fifteen political parties which are in an Inter-Agency Commission have sent an open letter to the Venice Commission. The letter applies to the constitutional amendments. In particular, to their negative attitude towards majoritarian- proportional system and new rule of staffing the Central Election Commission. The new rule has been initiated by Georgian Dream year of the "CEC" staffing is initiated by "Georgian Dream". Opposition hopes that their remarks will affect the final report of the Venice Commission.

"The committee already discusses how the government will monopolize the election administration. The Coordination Council will inform the Venice Commission in this regard,"- said Giorgi Akhvlediani, the member of " democratic Movement- untied Georgia."


Mamuka Katsitadze, the chairperson of the New Rights Party states that delay of replacement of the majoritarian system, the only positive will disappear in the constitutional amendments.
