US Ambassador to Georgia Jan Kelly responds to the kidnapping of Azeri journalist. According to the Ambassador, he had communication with the Georgian authorities on this fact and hoped that the case will be thoroughly investigated.

"I think my position was quite clear about this issue. We see that this is a very serious incident. We had to communicate in this connection with the Government of Georgia and express our position that this case should be thoroughly investigated. We also hope that Afgan Mukhtarli will be treated properly and I hope the case will be fair,"-said Jan Kelly.

According to the Azerbaijani journalist, he was detained in Tbilisi and taken to the border of Azerbaijan. Afgan Mukhtarli is currently in Baku.
