The new edition of the Constitution of Georgia is in full compliance with the legal principles - the Chairman of the Parliament responds to the conclusion of the Venice Commission.

According to Irakli Kobakhidze, the existing project formulates a sophisticated parliamentary governance system and European experts have confirmed it.

"We had information on the contents of this conclusion and we knew what was reflected in this conclusion. This conclusion reflectes what we have been talking about for months, namely that the existing document, the new edition of the constitution is in full compliance with the legal principles and establishes a highly-sophisticated parliamentary governance system. This is certainly our team`s success, "- said Irakli Kobakhidze.

The parliamentary opposition claims that the remarks of the Venice Commission`s final report in relation to the mandate distribution and the prohibition of the blocks have not been taken into account.
