If the President will not appoint, the Parliament is authorized to hold an extraordinary session - Mamuka Mdinaradze

Parliamentary majority is waiting for the president"s consent on appointment of the extraordinary session, on which constitutional amendments should be taken.

The president has 48 hours to make a decision. However, the ruling party states that the plenary sitting will be appointed without the consent of the President.

Mamuka Mdinaradze, Chairperson of the faction Georgian Dream once again comments on the President"s decision not to discuss constitutional amendments with the Chairman of the Parliament on TV.

"The fact is that the president did not consent to Kobakhidze"s offer, because the Venice Commission actually canceled their arguments. We agreed that the mixed system will remain by 2020, but the election threshold will fall to 3% in the proportional part,"- said Mamuka Mdinaradze.

A Leader of the parliamentary majority also makes an explanations. Archil Talakvadze says that the majoritarians have strong arguments about maintaining the system.
