The opposition criticizes the parliament"s ruling party for their choice to have the system of mixed election as they accuse the ruling party’s decision that the system is a beneficial fit for the ruling party.
United National Movement states that the reason of keeping the majoritatian system is inner confrontation in Georgian Dream.
" It seems an ongoing confrontation is currently happening between inner groups in “Georgian Dream”. Our task is to follow interests of Georgian residents and protect their rights, including g the right to elect the president , which is supported by 90 % of citizens,"- said Tinatin Bokuchava.
“European Georgia” does not plan to support the changes in the constitution as well.
"Of course we will not support as it was important to switch to a proportional system sharing the best European experience. ,"- said Sergi Kapanadze.
