President refused to call extraordinary session of parliament

The president has refused to call an extraordinary session of Parliament. Giorgi Margvelashvili made an announcement at a special briefing.

The Chairman of the Parliament addressed the President about calling the session with a letter.

" The society has heard refusal on the most important decision- swich to the proportional system. This amendment will substantially change the proposed draft constitutional reform, which was discussed by the Georgian society and by the Venice Commission. In this occasion the only thing that is left from the Constitutional amendments is a fundamental change of the president"s institution,"- Giorgi Margvelashvili said.
