Initiative of the draft law on Public Broadcaster will beconsidered in the Parliament today. The key points remained unchanged, including partial refusal of tenders and the right to sell sponsorship and advertising. The majority say that the new changes will contribute to the efficient work of the Public Broadcaster.

"We asked the European Broadcasting Union to provide expert advice and they have sent their competent conclusion. There is a positive position that we will meet European standards and after initiatio we will start public discussions , "- Eka Beselia said.

The parliamentary opposition blames the government for attempting to turn the TV into a goverment TV channel.

"This is an attempt to turn the channel into GDS. There are people who protest against this position inside. Consequently, I am not surprised that the authority of this council is restricted. As it seems, Vasil Maglapreidze wants to have unlimited power, " - said Irma Nadirashvili, a member of" European Georgia ".

The National Movement also speaks about turning the Public Broadcaster into a political TV.

"This process actually serves to further strengthen the oligarchic regime. In reality, Bidzina Ivanishvili`s TV, GDS is ported on the GPB base aimed to create a political
platform at the expense of the Georgian taxpayer, "said Kote Ioseliani.
