"If the spirit is that we have the remote controllers and we are the most clever", we will not get an constitution in force" - the President

Giorgi Margvelashvili answered the question regarding the constitutional amendments at the briefing held at the Presidential Palace today. According to the president, he welcomes the consultations, but observes the ongoing process. As the President says, the constitution must be based on consensus.

"We had a zero-consensus document on the table, which was signed by one party, despite this, that the parliament adopted a project, which led to the deadlock of the political process. Today, when we finally understood that the constitution is not a document, which should be accepted by force and should be based on the consensus, I welcome the consultations,"- said Giorgi Margvelashvili.
