Case of Otar Abesadze - defense requires change of preventive measure

The Tbilisi City Court today begins the consideration on merits of the case of the former high-ranking official of the City Hall detained on bribery charges. According to the lawyer, the defense side is supposed to request the changeof prevention measure.

According to Irma Chkadua, the expertise has already been appointed to determine the health condition of the defendant. After the conclusion, the defense will presumably put forward a motion requiring the change of preliminary detention with a more lightweight measure.

The Tbilisi City Hall`s high-profile was detained by anti-corruption agency two months ago for bribery.
