Massive political attack against Russia - civil society demands solidarity from Georgian government to West

Civil society demands more solidarity from the Georgian government towards the West. According to them, when the West is united against Moscow because of the chemical attack in Britain, the silence of official Tbilisi is unacceptable.

Former diplomats, political analysts and artists believe that there are many ways to express solidarity towards the West, including expelling Russian diplomats from Georgia, prohibition of propaganda channels and imposing sanctions for Russian state companies.

Philosopher Lasha Bakradze believes that the prohibition of Russian channels is one of the forms of which Georgia can be on the side of the civilized world and use the wave of Western protest.

Batu Kutelia, Vice-President of the Atlantic Council of Georgia, says that solidarity creates a real force that will bring concrete results in the future.

Despite the fact that Georgia does not have diplomatic relations with Russia, up to 10 Russian diplomats still work in the Russian interests section of the Swiss embassy.

Georgia"s former ambassador to the UK, Giorgi Badridze, considers that Georgia should agree on the specific steps against Russia with western partners.

Georgia"s former ambassador to the US Davit Sikharulidze said that Georgia has many ways to create discomfort for Russia, including the description of those Russian companies that violate international law and work on the occupied territories of Georgia.

After Russia was accused fof poisoning Sergei Skripal and his daughter, 27 states of the civilized world expelled 150 Russian diplomats.
