Another tragedy in Tkibuli - this time 4 miners are mourned.
One of the deceased is Mikheil Gamzardashvili, 54. He is the second in the family who died in Mindeli"s shaft. Another member of the family died in the explosion that occurred three months ago.
Relatives of the deceased and active miners say that security measures are not protected on the ground. The accident occurred at the precinct, where 6 people were killed in the explosion three months ago.
As for the incident that occurred in the early hours of the morning, there are also injured. Six miners have got body burns. Due to the burning extent, several of them were taken to the special center in Tbilisi.
It is not yet established, what caused the explosion at the shaft. Presumably, the methane explosion caused the deformation of the walls and ceiling.
Whether the security system worked or not the shaft administration has no information.
Investigation is in progress under Article 240 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which implies violation of safety rules in mining, construction or other works.
People in charge of the Sakhnakhuri administration and security were questioned in Tkibuli police for several hours today. Every shaft in Tkibuli is closed until the end of the investigation and until international expertise do not conclude that the work on the ground is safe.
