The President of Georgia has expressed condolences over the passing of Niko Lekishvili.

In his message, Mikheil Kavelashvili offered sympathies to Lekishvili"s family, friends and relatives.

"I express my heartfelt condolences over the passing of Nikoloz Lekishvili, the former mayor of Tbilisi, a three-term member of parliament, and an honorary citizen of the capital. Mr. Niko was also a signatory of the Act of Restoration of Georgia"s State Independence. My thoughts are with the family, friends, and loved ones of this distinguished Georgian", - says the President.
