Giorgi Margvelashvili will announce the date of presidential elections in the nearest future. However, it is not clear whether the ruling party - "Georgian Dream" will have its own candidate or will support somebody else.

The parliamentary majority says that the decision will be public in the first half of August.

The "Georgian Dream" declares that consultations are still underway and any scenario will be discussed in the team. The final decision is made by the party members in the form of political council.

"I think it would be wiser if we would support not the opposition but an independent candidate, if he is acceptable for the Georgian political spectrum. It may be a candidate who will be expected to stabilize the presidential institution , "- Dimitri Khundadze said.
