Noise and confrontation at the Parliament building - Saralidze and Machalikashvili were not allowed to open the tents

Yesterday at the demonstration of fathers of murderd teenagers in front of the parliament was noisy. The confrontation on Rustaveli began after the law enforcers did not allow rally participants to open the tents by means of construction set up from the banners. Participants of the action blame the police in abuse of power and demand to place banners back on the territory.

"When the tents were taken away last time, the explanation of the police was that they could not control the situation in the tents and we specially developed a plan to allow the police to control the situation but this time they stepped over their own demands," said Zarzalidze.

The rally was later joined by a political consultant from the United States who spoke about the restriction of freedom of expression for the fathers. Christina Pushaw assessed police response as a crime.

"We are very surprised by the actions of the police, it is strange that so many police officers are mobilized against such a small group of activists.I have often heard that there was no freedom of speech in Georgia during Saakashvili"s time, but I do not think that now freedom of speech exists, how we can claim that in your country there is a true democracy and in this regard everything is fine here, "- says Christina Pushaw.
