Rain, storm, snow and blizzard - weather to worsen in Georgia

According to the National Environmental Agency of Georgia, from December 28 through the morning of December 29, intermittent precipitation, heavy snowfall, and blizzards are expected across the country.

In the mountains and highlands, strong westerly winds are expected. A sea storm with a 3-4 point intensity is also forecasted.

The anticipated precipitation may cause significant increases in water levels of rivers in Western Georgia, flash floods in smaller rivers, as well as the activation of landslide and sandstorm processes in hilly areas. Avalanches may also form in high-mountain regions.

Due to heavy snowfall, avalanche risk, ice, and poor visibility, traffic movement may be restricted on some road sections [medium danger level].
