Bidzina Ivanishvili, the chairman of the "Georgian Dream" party spoke about the details of the meeting with Paata Burchuladze in the interview yesterday. Ivanishvili said he had met with Burchuladze before the 2012 elections. Ivanishvili named a specific sum - 9 million dollars, which Paata Burchuladze was asking in return to his support.
"I met him and really offered to be Georgian Dream"s supporter. He replied that he preferred to stay on the stage. He was my guest together with his wife and he showed me that he would agree to be our teammate in exchange of nine million dollars. I calculated it for him jokingly and established that it would take 200 years on stage to receive such money. We calculated together and he would receive just one million, or maybe two in his lifetime. The next day, his wife called me, came, took a paper from his bag and told me to transfer two million. I told her that I had not said such thing, "said Ivanishvili.
According to Ivanishvili, he also has questions about the Oavnana Foundation. He said, he would not break the presumption of innocence, but mentioned the Prosecutor"s Office"s statement that 2/3 of money is gone from the fund.
