Opposition parties create consultative council - Three requests in order to change the electoral system

The opposition spectrum is united with a demand to hold early elections and change the electoral system. The consultations held at the "Labor Party" office ended with concrete results today.

The Consultative Board of the opposition parties was created. Against the backdrop of the current political crisis in the country, it is necessary to change the electoral system, as well as the procedure for recruitment of election administrations, after which the early parliamentary elections should be appointed.

"Absolutely all opposition parties support three demands - Early parliamentary elections, a fundamental change of rules for composition of election commissions, and the third, transition to a proportional system," said former Presidential Candidate of United Opposition Grigol Vashadze.

Bachuki Kardava, the leader of the United Opposition, said that the presidential election clearly showed that leaving the situation unchanged till 2020 means the death of democracy in the country.

Akaki Asatiani, the chairman of the Georgian Traditionalists Union says that the current parliament does not reflect the mood of the country.

"Power and elections purchased with money are illegitimate and illegal," says Shalva Natelashvili, the leader of Labor Party.

Another member of the United Opposition Paata Davitaia says that doors of united opposition are open to all opponents of the government.

Levan Tarkhnishvili, member of the political council for "European Georgia - Movement for Freedom", says that there is nothing unrealistic in the demands of the opposition.
