The Armenian population will elect a new parliament today. Election precincts were opened at 08:00 am across the country.
9 parties and 2 election blocs are fighting for mandates in the parliament.
According to sociological researches, most of the votes in the new parliament will be taken by Nicole Pashinian"s block "My Step". Serge Sarkisian"s "Republican" party is also participating in the elections.
The party of the former president dismissed as a result of the April Revolution, said that his party will gain a sufficient number of votes to get into the new parliament and become the main opposition force.

This is the first extraordinary election in the history of independent Armenia.
