The Venice Commission points to the need for fundamental reforms regarding the functions of the High Council of Justice and Prosecutor"s Council of Georgia.
Strictly centralized system of the Prosecutor"s Office is unacceptable to the Commission. The existing structure, according to their assessment, hinders public trust to system activities.
The Venice Commission focuses on increasing the functions of the Prosecutor Council. As for the High Council of Justice, the Commission considers that all their decisions are justified and the general requirement is to determine the general openness of the Council meetings.
