Tamar Zhvania may be appointed as CEC chairperson for the second term

Tamar Zhvania may be appointed as CEC chairperson for the second term. Reportedly, "Georgian Dream" valued Zhvania"s work in favor of ruling party and allowed her to stay for 5 years, one of the highest paid jobs.
The opposition opposes Tamar Zhvania"s second term. The CEC member and opposition parties say that Zhvania is a clear example of what the head of the election administration should not be. The confirmation of this is the 2018 presidential election, where a number of serious violations took place.
"The government is electing the chairperson that will carry out its tasks," said Davit Kirtadze, a member of the Central Election Commission of Georgia from the United National Movement.
Davit Gurgenidze, a member of the Central Election Commission of Georgia, speaks about the necessity of investigation of Tamar Zhvania"s activities and explains that there will be many questions to the CEC chairperson.
"If the offenses are proved, this should be investigated by the Prosecutor"s Office and in case of confirmation, there will be a lot of question marks," said Gurgenidze.
