Case of Zviad Gamsakhurdia"s murder - President addresses Parliament

Salome Zurabishvili, the President of Georgia appeals to the parliament regarding the case of Zviad Gamsakhurdia"s murder.

She calls on the parliament to carry out the relevant legislative measures for the extension of the limitation period of investigation.

"As President of Georgia, I can not don"t share concerns of Zviad Gamsakhurdia"s family and demand to continue the limitation period of investigation of the first President"s murder and I know that it is necessary to carry out relevant legislative measures and this is not the president"s competence.

I appeal to the legislative body to take into consideration the request of my and Zviad Gamsakhurdia"s family members in this regard," the statement reads.
