Zaza Berikashvili was detained on the fact of damage of the official vehicle of MP Tamar Khulordava in Telavi on December 16.
He is placed in preliminary detention isolator of the Kakheti Police Department. Investigation is under way under Article 353 of the Criminal Code, which implies an attack on a representative of the government. The committed crime envisages from 4 to 7 years of imprisonment.
Berikashvili is from the village of Zemo Gurjaani, though he lived in Tbilisi for years. His stepmother is in the village where Berikashvili was on December 18th.Luisa Berikashvili was questioned by the police. According to Berikashvili"s stepmother, the man has been operated on his head and does not control his behavior.
Zaza Berikashvili will be charged today, after which the trial will be held.
