Central Election Commission will elect a new chairman tomorrow

The Central Election Commission will elect a new chairman tomorrow. The session starts at 14:00. The decision of the Central Election Commission shall be made by two-thirds of the total composition by secret ballot. All three candidates will be voted for simultaneously. Among them is Tamar Zhvania, who will try to hold the post for the second term. Lado Bozadze and Tamar Shelegia are also running for the position.
If the CEC fails to chose the chair, the process will move to the parliament and the MPs will choose from three nominees.
Giorgi Kandelaki, the secretary of the parliamentary fraction "European Georgia" emphasized the critical evaluation of the presidential elections held by the international observers in Georgia."The presidential election was evaluated by the OSCE and internationally recognized observer organizations most critically. Such critical conclusions have not been made after Shevardnadze"s time. So to put it mildly, this president should have taken into consideration when presenting the candidates, "Giorgi Kandelaki said.
