The Prime Minister, Mamuka Bakhtadze responds to Eka Beselia"s decision to leave the Committee on Legal Issues. The Prime Minister said at the special briefing before the start of the government session that leaving the post of the committee`s chairperson is Eka Beselia"s personal decision.
Mamuka Bakhtadze also evaluated Beselia"s explanation regarding her resignation, who noted that her departure was linked to the list of candidates nominated by the High Council of Justice.
According to the Prime Minister, state institutions should work independently, without interference.
"This is a personal position of Mrs. Eka and naturally she has the right to do it and I think she made a definition ... my position will always be and will always be that the executive government should never interfere with the other branches of the government. We have our national interests and the political team is in line with these interests, "said Mamuka Bakhtadze.
Eka Beselia made a statement about leaving the Committee on Legal Issues today. Beselia noted that her decision was linked with the list of candidates nominated by the High Council of Justice and explained that the list contained the judges who discussed the case of her son and brother. According to her, these individuals were not only discussing the issue of her family members but also the cases of relatives of Vano Zardiashvili"s family.
