Speaking of Georgia"s accession to NATO is an exacerbation of the situation and it will bring nothing to Russia or the region - Burjanadze

Nino Burjanadze is still in Moscow and she is against speaking about Georgia"s NATO membership. This statement was made by the Chairwoman of the Democratic Movement for Georgia in the program of the Russian TV Company "First Channel". The main topic of the talk show was NATO expansion.
Burjanadze reiterated that she did not agree with Georgia"s membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The leader of the Democratic Movement says that Georgian politicians are interested in Georgia"s NATO membership and ignore the interests of the country.According to Burjanadze, Georgia"s accession to NATO will benefit neither Russia nor the region, according to the politician, any normal country is obliged to take into consideration the interests of neighboring countries other than their own interests.
" Talking about NATO expansion in relation to Ukraine is an escalation of the situation and it is clear that it will bring nothing to Russia or the West, nor the region in general. Georgian politicians who talk about NATO membership in the best case are ignorant, and in the worst case negligence of Georgia"s interests. My views on NATO membership of Georgia have changed drastically since 2008. Then, because of Saakashvili"s actions, we could not avoid war between Georgia and Russia. I do not support speaking about Georgia`s membership in NATO , "- Nino Burjanadze said.
