Mikheil Saakashvili leaves the position of UNM"s Chairman - the third President of Georgia has just made a statement. Mikheil Saakashvili has posted a video appeal on his facebook page.

According to Mikheil Saakashvili, he is not allowed to enter the country, which is a hindering factor for the party"s activities. According to him, last presidential elections showed the potential of United Opposition candidate, Grigol Vashadze. However, the third President of Georgia declares that despite his personal sympathy, the new leader should be as a result of a ballot.

"Ivanishvili has done everything not to let me in the country. Some of our leaders are in prison. Davit Kirkitadze has just been detained and of course, it hinders the organization"s activities, but in order to overcome it, we have to be constantly flexible and do something, which will not stop our fight even for a day. So in this situation, I think it"s important for UNM to elect a chairman.

I believe that Grigol Vashadze held a very good presidential campaign and personally I would support him on the post of UNM"s Chairman.

Just like we need to involve new people in the political council, but how should these people be chosen and who should elect them - we have 400 thousand registered active supporters and activists. These people, you have to make decisions. Not somebody else, not behind the scenes, not by somebody"s in negotiations, you have to make a decision and electronic voting mechanisms allow you to do so. According to the third president of Georgia, the party"s core will create this application in the nearest future, and each member of the party will be able to vote electronically.

According to Mikheil Saakashvili, this method will give the opportunity to involve UNM members in all important processes and decisions. According to him, everyone should take responsibility for the processes and governance.
