Kremlin once again found guilty - Russia was obliged to pay compensation to the Georgian citizens

The Kremlin once again was found guilty - Moscow lost the same dispute with private individuals after losing the dispute over Georgia"s deportation case in 2006.
European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg has imposed a payment of compensation for 15 citizens of Georgia on the Russian Federation.
The compensation amount ranges from 2 thousand to 15 thousand euros. The amount is determined by the amount of times a citizen spent in the prison.
Strasbourg announced today the decision on Berdzenishvili and others against Russia case.
Deportees from Russia remembered those days when they were deported. It is said that inhuman treatment has left a lot of trace and stress on them.
The Strasbourg court considers that in 2006 during mass deportation Russia violated several articles of the European Convention.
After a state-wide appeal, the decision was made on individual cases. Within three months, the Russian Federation shall pay the money to the victims. The Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe will oversee the execution of the decision.
