Levan Izoria"s several -hour speech in the parliament and not a single word about Russia - experts in defense issues call Levan Izoria"s speech shameful. According to their assessment, soft policy with Russia is a state strategy and the defense minister"s statements were part of it.
"This government thinks that if it does not call Russia enemy, something will change. Nothing will change. When politicians do this it is one problem but it"s a bigger problem, when it"s the defense minister. Because our concept of defense should be constructed according to who is our enemy. It happens all over the world. We have a problem only with Russia, if the Defense Minister does not say this, it is a big problem. One question arises, why do we need armed forces, "said former Defense Minister Dimitri Shashkin.
Experts are convinced that such position of Georgia will encourage Russia to commit crimes in the occupied territories.
" The defense minister said something that it is a part of the whole governmental policy- this is not to mention Russia. Not mentioning Russia which occupies our territories, is not right, "said Nodar Kharshiladze.
