The rule of selection of judges - the Venice Commission has published it"s conclusion . The Chairman of the Parliament comments on the report.
According to Irakli Kobakhidze, the Venice Commission positively assesses the amendments to the organic law related to the election of judges.
"The Venice Commission positively assesses the amendments to the organic Law, which are related to the selection of judges. The draft law, as you know, establishes unprecedentedly open and transparent procedure, which does not have any analog in the EU countries", Kobakhidze said.
According to Kobakhidze, there are some key recommendations that will be shared. Among them , the ruling team may accept the opposition"s demand regarding removal of the exam.
"My position is that a considerable part of the recommendations may be envisaged. Including those recommendations, which are based on demands of our political opponents," Kobakhidze said.
According to the Chairman of the Parliament, one of the recommendations of the Venice Commission also suggest to deprive the candidate of the Council of Justice the right of vote, due to the conflict of interest.
