Members of the US House Representative Chamber Delegation are holding meetings in Tbilisi. A delegation of 20 congressmen has met with opposition representatives recently.
At the meeting they discussed the situation in the country. The conversation touched upon security issues, as well as the presidential and forthcoming elections.
"Traditional topics, where we need and appreciate support of the Congress are territorial integrity of Georgia, Georgia"s membership in NATO and recently the Congress has adopted a very important resolution and document. In contrast to previous meetings, Congressmen have been very interested in domestic politics, including how the 2020 parliamentary elections will be held, as they say and it is the foundation for any democracy is free elections, "Davit Bakradze, the Chairman of the European of Georgia said.
Salome Samadashvili, deputy chairperson of the National Movement faction, said that they had a very clear message with members of Congress, which meant the necessity of change of power in the country. According to Samadashvili, this issue is a key factor in the creation of a democratic process in the country.
