Experts are waiting for explanations from the Ministry regarding the statement of the head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. According to their assessment, Vladimir Chachibaia made a state error when mentioning the war in Abkhazia as a civil war. Vladimir Chachibaia said during his speech dedicated to the anniversary of the country"s armed forces, that Georgia has undergone 4 wars in the last 28 years, including 3 civil and 1 large-scale aggression from Russia.
Former Defense Minister, Tina Khidasheli says that the Defense Ministry should make a comment about Chachibaia"s statement.
"It is very sad if General Chachibaia thinks It is hard to understand when the commander of your country"s armed forces thinks that the conflict with Russia started in 2008 and everything that happened before was only civil war," Tinatin Khidasheli said.
Expert on security issues, Teona Akubardia clarified that Vladimir Chachibaia must apologize for his own statement.
"When the commander of the Defense Forces makes a statement that coincides with the Russian narrative, it"s certainly a threat and this is why he should apologize," said Teona Akubardia.
