The National Movement is demanding creation of Parliamentary Temporary Investigation Commission on Temurlan Machalikashvili"s case. The opposition party will raise the issue at the parliamentary bureau session today.
The opponents of the government hope that after the MPs left the parliamentary majority, they will be able to get of the needed 50 legislators.
"After listening to the head of the state security service, we have been convinced that only the Commission can establish the truth and once again reiterate that this issue will not be investigated without the creation of the Commission and the Parliament should start discussing it," said Roman Gotsiridze.
Members of the "European Georgia" are expressing their support for the request.
" European Georgia supports "creation of an investigative commission on the case of Machalikashvili. We were the first to respond to the statement of Machalikashvili, and it is unfortunate that the government does not do it because they do want to reveal the truth on this topic just as they did not want to tell the truth about Saralidze`s case, "Sergi Kapanadze said.
The opposition"s demand is not shared in the ruling team. Members of the parliamentary majority say that the investigative commission should not study the case in parallel with the investigation.
