French lawmakers are in Tbilisi. The parliamentary friendship group will have the first meeting in the parliament.
Besides meeting with Georgian lawmakers, French lawmakers are planning to visit the occupation line in the village of Khurvaleti. The main purpose of the 5-day visit is to deepen the relationship between the countries.
"The goal of our visit is deepening cooperation between our countries. We plan to discuss many issues with Georgian colleagues, including economics, culture and education. We will hold meetings with MPs and we will try to hold discussions with everyone, including representatives of opposition parties. We will also visit the so called Administrative border. The state of France, as it is well known, supports the government of Georgia and the unity of your country. This is the position of the Parliament of France, "said Jean-René Cazeneuve, the chairman of the Friendship Group.
