Who will replace Shalva Tadumadze on his position of the General Prosecutor? The third sector calls on the government to find a neutral candidate .
Non-governmental organizations recall history of appointment General Prosecutors under "Georgian Dream" government.
"From the beginning, there was a person- Fartskhabadze, who had problems with his criminal past. He had direct connections with Bidzina Ivanishvili, and then there was a Prosecutor , whose past was questionable as well. Today our chief prosecutor is Bidzina Ivanishvili"s former personal lawyer, "said Eka Gigauri, the Executive director of Transparency International Georgia.
Non-governmental organizations say today there is no confidence in the Prosecutor"s Office and the government needs to improve the situation with the appointment of a neutral General Prosecutor.
"The majority should be wise and in this situation select the Chief Prosecutor whose past is not questionable and who deserves social and political trust. If they do not do it, it will obviously be another damaging step, "said Vakhushti Menabde.
