"What we have seen today, is totally unacceptable for our nation," the statement was made by the PM.
Mamuka Bakhtadze, who is in parliament at this time, assesses current developments and says that the actions of citizens caused negative emotions in society.
According to Bakhtadze, the rally initially was a peaceful protest, but in the last two hours, it became violent.
"This is an attempt by the aggressive group, the National Movement, to pull Georgia out of the legal framework that has been created once and for all in this country and ensures its stable development," Bakhtadze said.
According to the Prime Minister, the UNM is trying to bring dissonance, which up to now was impossible.
"In this case we are dealing with a very narrow political interest, political attempt that does not fall into any framework ... violence in Georgia is unacceptable, we are a country that will never get into violence. Fair protest and sincere protest, yes, it has a place today, too, in a large part of society ... violence is unacceptable and it will have an adequate response, "the Prime Minister said.
