Members of the Georgian delegation say that the Russian delegation tried to prevent the process at the committee sitting. They hope that the majority will support Georgia"s resolution.
Gigi Tsereteli, the president of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly states that the important resolution for Georgia passed the first phase at the plenary session, but there were also contradictions.
The chairman of the UK delegation, Mark Pritchard, expressed hope that the resolution will be included in the Luxembourg Declaration.
"I am glad that we received the resolution by a majority vote. I am disappointed that the German delegation has refrained from doing so. Of course, we expected Russia to resist, and this is what happened. But I am glad that the occupation was underlined. Because this is the occupation of sovereign territories of Georgia and it is right that we remind the international community of violations of human rights and intervention of Russia, "said Mark Pritchard.
