"20% of the Georgian Territories are occupied, but we have not stopped to move towards democracy" - the president of Georgia

"I would like to welcome you, firstly not as the president of the pro-European nation, but of the European nation," - the President of Georgia said at the international conference in Batumi, attended by the president of the European Council and other high-ranking guests.
According to Salome Zourabishvili, Georgia has not stopped to move towards democracy. According to her, 20% of the Georgian territories are occupied.
"This is a turn around for both Georgia and the EU. The time has come to start a new course in our relationship, partnership. I want to greet you primarily as the president not of the pro-European nation, but of the European nation. After 70 years of Soviet domination, Georgia has gained independence, we witnessed numerous internal and external wars and the result is that 20% of the Georgian territories are occupied, but we have not stopped gradually moving to democracy, even during these challenges," - said Salome Zourabishvili.
The conference held in Adjara is attended by the President of the European Council Donald Tusk, Polish, Swedish, Armenian and Czech Foreign Ministers. The first announcements have been made at the international forum, which concerns the problems of Georgia"s occupation on the European Path.
