The chairman of the Georgian Young Lawyers" Association, Sulkhan Saladze, responds to the statement made by Kibar Khalvashi, a new owner of the "Rustavi 2." Khalvashi directly challenged the team.
He rejected the request of the journalists about the guarantees of editorial independence. He mentioned that the request is the destructive and capricious.
After getting acquainted with the statement, Sulkhan Saladze suspects that the text is not written by Kibar Khalvashi but the persons affiliated with the government.
Sulkhan Saladze also says that the case of the "Rustavi 2" in the instances of the Georgian court was going on very quickly, which have never happened on other similar cases. Therefore Saladze is convinced that Khalvashi has received some kind of support from the government.
"I suspect that the statement of Kibar Khalvashi is written by the government. The case of the "Rustavi 2" in the instances of the Georgian court was going on very quickly, without support it is impossible. Nobody believes that Kibar Khalvashi independently achieved success," - Sulkhan Saladze said.
