The decision of the European Court on Rustavi 2"s case leaves a 3-month period for appeal - an official document from Strasbourg

The decision of the Strasbourg Court on "Rustavi 2" will be appealed to the Grand Chamber. The official document received from the court confirms that there is a three-month term in which the parties can apply to the superior body. This explanation of the judges of the Human Rights Court raises more question marks about the government"s action - why the Georgian Dream hurried to execute the court decision.
The questions regarding the execution of the Strasbourg decision were raised after the parties received a written version of the decision from the European Court and a letter from the Court. According to this document, the decision of July 18 will enter into force three months later, unless the parties do not appeal to the Grand Chamber until the 18th of October. This letter is another proof for Rustavi 2 lawyers that the decision of Strasbourg was hastily executed. They had also sent a letter to the Justice Minister on July 17 before a decision was made and asked to refrain from hasty action. In a letter sent to Tea Tsulukiani, the lawyers requested not to allow the registration of "Rustavi 2" shares until the Strasbourg decision was analyzed, as this would be a violation of the Convention and her personal responsibility. Minister of Justice Tsulukiani has not made any explanation today. The Ministry responded to the allegations only by publishing the letter received from Strasbourg.
Kibar Khalvashi"s lawyer has made a response to the allegations instead of the Ministry of Justice. Now the Director General of Rustavi 2, Paata Salia claims that the law was not violated by their demands for changes in the registry.
