Interior Ministry officials are forced to give false statements against members of the "United National Movement" - said Khatia Dekanoidze at a special briefing.
According to her, officials of the Interior Ministry summoned in the Prosecutor General"s Office and were told to give false testify against UNM leaders.
“18 people are in pre-trial detention and these people are being arrested without any evidence. Yesterday we contacted several employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including GDD and conscripts. These people were forced to go to the Prosecutor"s Office of Georgia and give the false testimony against Nika Melia, Chairman of the National Movement"s Political Board, Besik Gazdeliani and Jemal Sepiashvili, active members of the National Movement. It seems that Bidzina Ivanishvili is going to continue political repression and punish people for holding civil positions.
