Irakli Okruashvili is expected to serve the prison sentence. The Court of Appeals today dismissed the former defense minister"s demand and upheld the verdict of the first instance.
Kote Kemularia, one of the founders of the political movement "Victorious Georgia," said the Court of Appeal was not even interested in the arguments on why Okruashvili demanded the change of preventive measure.
"This is a very dangerous precedent. No arguments were discussed, no evidence, or any credible evidence at all. This is the current approach of the government,” - said Kote Kemularia.
Irakli Okruashvili is accused of organizing, leading and participating in group violence. He was sentenced to two months" pretrial detention by the Tbilisi City Court.
